As of midday today according to US sources a 60 day extension ceasefire deal has been reached with Iran. The terms include fully opening the Strait of Hormuz without tolls, pledges to stop nuclear weapons development followed by 60 days of negotiations and finally a vague commitment from the US to provide potential sanctions relief and help Iran rebuild.
Despite this looking optimistic sources have told F14 that there is still significant disagreement between the leadership in Iran with the new supreme leader flanked by his IRGC cronies, still projecting strength through stubbornness, with the deal allegedly still not being signed. This reflects a disconnect between the more moderate politicians like the President and the Foreign minister and the actual leadership of the country which is now dominated by the IRGC and continues to be in hiding.
