Ukraine's Long-Range Strikes Cripple Crimean Supply Lines

The top story today is Ukraine's increasingly successful long-range strike campaign against Russian-occupied Crimea. In recent weeks, strikes have targeted road and railway bridges around the peninsula, key logistical nodes (fuel, ammunition, and other supplies), and now ferries as well. Crimea is reportedly running critically short of fuel and other essential resources. Today's strikes forced Russian forces to reroute supply trucks bound for the southern frontline through Mariupol in occupied Ukraine leaving them exposed to further strikes along the R008 supply road. In an early-morning operation, Ukrainian forces destroyed three Russian ferries that were being used to transport supplies, while also striking air defense radar and defensive positions near the Kerch (Crimean) Bridge. Some sources suggest this may be preparation for a larger strike to come. Tonight, routine strikes have already begun. Russian forces on the southern front are reportedly struggling significantly, having been forced to withdraw from the Kinburn Spit.

US-Iran Talks Begin in Geneva Amid Disruptions

In other news, US-Iran negotiations kicked off today in Geneva, Switzerland. Hezbollah has been engaged for several weeks in an intensified conflict with Israeli forces in Lebanon.

Negotiations also appear to be significantly disrupted by continued Israeli military activity in southern Lebanon, with Israel refusing to withdraw. This has become a sticking point for Iranian negotiators, and members of the IRGC has threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz in response.
